      PRMA NY Metro Chapter Gingerbread House Exhibition Guidelines

      The goal and purpose of PRMA Gingerbread House Exhibition is to spark creative and candy-covered love for all during the happiest season of the year!

      The exhibition is open to PRMA members and prospective members.

      Entries must be received before December 31, 2023, at 1:00 PM EST.

      Original creations are encouraged, but purchased kits that you decorate are certainly acceptable! Entries are not limited to the structure of a house or residence. Competitors are welcome and encouraged to uniquely design their own unique entry of a vehicle, watercraft, historic building, art, jewelry, etc. are all eligible.

      All materials used for the entry and the decorations must be edible except for the type of adhesive you use including icing, Elmer’s Glue, or hot glue. Edible materials include but are not limited to gingerbread, sugar, pretzels, nuts, graham crackers, pop-tarts, candy, chocolate, healthy alternatives, etc. No plastic, cardboard, or wood.

      Any entries built prior to 2023 are not eligible for the exhibition.

      Photo Submission Details

      Each entry must include two (2) photos of the completed house.

      High-resolution quality photos preferred.

      One (1) photo should be front-facing and one (1) should be side or 3/4 view.

      Use a solid, neutral background.

      Photos should be free of any identifying factors: names, faces, school, or business logos.

      Only image file formats will be accepted (.jpeg, .png, pdf)

      Prizes

      1st place - $100 gift card

      2nd place - $75 gift card

      3rd place - $50 gift card

      *Prizes will be awarded in January and delivered by email.

    Michael Battle




    Michael W. Battle earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Risk Management) degree from Southern Methodist University. For the last 43 years, he has been a Partner and Director at Keen Battle Mead & Company. Michael has served on Boards of Directors, which include being Past-President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Dade County, Past-President of Riviera Country Club, Past-President of Snapper Creek Lakes Homeowners Association, Past-Chairman of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Past-Director of the Two Hundred Club of Miami. His Board service on a national business level has included: Director of The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, Executive Council of Crum & Forster Insurance Company, and President of Sunshine Insurance Limited, a Bermuda Reinsurance Company. Michael has also served the Florida Association of Insurance Agents as Vice Chair of the Automation Committee, the Legislative Committee, and Chairman of the Local Boards Committee.
